28 Markets in South Jakarta are Safe from Hazardous Materials

The South Jakarya Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture Sub-agency (KPKP) made food safety inspections at 28 traditional and modern markets from January to December 9, 2025.
Sample taken is safe and free from hazardous materials
South Jakarta Food Security and Agriculture Section Head, Ida Masni said, the total food samples examined were 728, consisting of 616 agricultural samples and 112 livestock samples.
"That achievement is part of our routine coordination with the KPKP Agency," she expressed, Wednesday (12/10).
Foodstuff Supervision Held at Six Traditional Markets in East JakartaIn the last scheduled inspection on Tuesday (12/9), officers successfully collected samples at Tebet Barat Market, Tebet Timur Market, Menteng Pulo Market, and Karet Belakang Market, totaling 38 agricultural commodity samples and seven from farms.
"Laboratory test results show that the sample taken is safe and free from hazardous materials," she explained.
According to her, the inspection went smoothly as planned without any significant obstacles.
She added this was done to ensure that agricultural and livestock products circulating in the market are safe for public consumption.
"The pesticide residue test aims to determine the chemical substances that may remain on agricultural products. As for the Formalin and Chlorine tests are to ensure that no harmful preservatives are used in processing or storing the food," she explained.
She asserted, her sub-agency is always committed to ensuring food safety through regular monitoring and education for traders and market managers.
"We continuously ensure that the products sold in traditional markets and supermarkets in South Jakarta meet food safety standards. So, the community receives safe and suitable food for consumption," he stated.
